Safety: Port System Authority Launches Permanent Working Group to Strengthen Prevention and Improve Port Operations
A shared initiative involving companies, workers and trade unions gets underway. Gasparato: “Safety is a responsibility shared by the entire port community, not by any single organisation. By pooling knowledge, experience and best practices, we can turn critical issues into concrete action.” B2B meetings and wider sessions will be held over the coming months to develop a shared and effective strategy for safety in the ports.
European Coordinators Visit Veneto’s Port System
The North Adriatic Sea Port Authority welcomed Mrs Gesine Meissner, European Coordinator for the European Maritime Space, and Mrs Anne Jensen, European Coordinator for the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor.
The CROSS-CONNECT project presents its results : technology and cooperation at the service of passengers to strengthen links between ports, airports and urban areas in the Adriatic, promoting more efficient and sustainable intermodal transport.
As part of the Adriatic Sea Forum, currently taking place in Venice, a presentation of the CROSS-CONNECT project was held this morning. The project aims to integrate the management of maritime, air and urban transport in the Adriatic region and is funded by the Interreg Italy-Croatia Programme 2021–2027, for which the Veneto Region is the Managing Authority.

The future of the Veneto Port System is inextricably linked to the cooperation and decisions of the local authorities within whose territories our ports operate. For this reason, as I have emphasized since the beginning of my term of office, a positive and sincere dialogue between institutions is essential for building, together, the future of our port system.
Port of Venice strategic to the european critical raw materials project
The Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy is considering the Port of Venice for a central role in the new European system for the storage and handling of critical raw materials and rare earths, strategic assets for Europe’s industrial competitiveness and economic security.
Growing traffic for the Veneto Port System
In the period April 2025–March 2026, Venice exceeds 25 million tonnes (+4.4%). Chioggia approaches 900,000. Containers (+9.8%) and solid bulk stand out, with nearly 350,000 additional tonnes.

The Su e Zo Detour 2026 preview takes place on Sunday 31 May. It is a guided boat itinerary promoted by the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority as part of the Su e Zo Detour programme by TGS Eurogroup, an initiative that takes participants on an original journey to discover the relationship between Venice and its port.
