In recent months, the Port of Chioggia has been at the centre of a complex operation showcasing Italian engineering excellence.
The two Goliath cranes designed, manufactured, erected, assembled and tested by Cimolai Technology, together with ACCS – Armando Cimolai Centro Servizi, at the Val da Rio port area in Chioggia, have left the port for the Monfalcone shipyard. Each crane is 110 metres high and has a lifting capacity of 800 tonnes. They are an outstanding example of advanced engineering and specialist expertise developed in the local area.
Their construction and handling in Chioggia confirm the important role of the Port of Chioggia in the heavy-lift and oversized cargo sector.
