Japan's visit of NAPA ports

Rijeka, 22nd January 2015 – Today the “study tour” of NAPA ports by a Japan Research Institute delegation, accompanied by the Head of the Overseas Projects Unit of the Japanese Ministry of Infrastructures and Transports (Mr. Kosuke Fujita - engineer) reached its final destination in Rijeka (Croatia).

NAPA ports general assembly

At the General assembly meeting of NAPA, held on 12th January in Trieste, the presidents, taking stock of the results achieved so far, reaffirmed the intention to continue common activities focused mainly on promotional and institutional field. Trieste at the head of NAPA, total container growth +9%. Monfalcone and Chioggia ports enter the NAPA association.

The Port Directorate at Zattere have been entrusted to VAC Foundation

The historical Palazzo delle Zattere, former headquarters of the Venice Port Directorate, today owned by the Port Authority, will be returned to the city thanks to the partnership with VAC Foundation.

12 million euros from Europe to strengthen the motorways of the sea

One of the main investments in the port sector was made in Venice, with the new Fusina ferry terminal. In Igoumenitsa the freight port has been designed; both projects will reduce pollution and improve goods logistics in the Adriatic-Ionian corridor.

Euroports, new record in bulk goods in Venice

New record broken by the Domestic Bulk Goods Terminal (Euroports Group). On 9th December ship Shimanami Queen docked in Porto Marghera with over 50 thousand tonnes of high-protein flour coming from Louisiana (USA) to the agrifood market of Northern Italy.

First edition of the safety festival

Secretary General: "The Safeport project and the 2014 edition of the Safety Day will be the opening events of the Festival and we would like to thank Confindustria Venezia for the attention paid to the port of Venice. This initiative has allowed us to identify a shared model of pollution prevention and reduction at sea and in the quays of the Northern Adriatic Sea."

Vecon Terminal - Investment in environmental protection

On 13th October, in Venice, Vecon launched an important environmental protection campaign. The campaign involves the Terminal staff, through awareness-raising activities aimed at promoting a more responsible approach to the use of material and energy resources.

Workshop "Technologies for the energy efficiency in the Port of Venice”
On Tuesday 16th December in the Venice Port Authority it was held the 2nd workshop on “Technologies for the energy efficiency in the Port of Venice”.

On 16th September 2014 the Venice Port Authority filed with the Ministry of Environment the request to start the Environmental Impact Assessment process of the preliminary design.
