The North Adriatic Sea Port Authority is lending its patronage to Veleziana Sailing Week 2026, an event organised by Compagnia della Vela which brings a full week of sailing events and maritime traditions to Venice from 10 to 18 October. The Authority’s involvement forms part of its collaboration agreement with Vela S.p.A., through which it also contributes to the organisation of the event in matters relating to the use of the spaces and areas involved.
Now in its second edition in this expanded format, Veleziana Sailing Week combines sailing competitions with initiatives dedicated to nautical culture, the promotion of the lagoon and inclusion, bringing together a variety of disciplines and types of boats.
The highlight of the event is the historic Veleziana regatta, which starts in the open sea off the Lido and finishes in the San Marco Basin, offering a spectacle that combines sporting competition with the city’s unique setting. Alongside offshore sailing, the programme also features historic vessels and traditional Venetian sailing disciplines, celebrating the close ties between Venice, the sea and the lagoon.
Through its patronage, the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority recognises the value of an initiative that promotes maritime culture and helps showcase Venice’s nautical and lagoon heritage, strengthening the relationship between the port and the local area.
