The Port Authority takes part in the MEDPorts General Assembly in Tangier.

The General Assembly of MEDPorts, established in 2018 which currently represents 13 countries, 31 Mediterranean ports including the ports of Venice and Chioggia and 4 Port Training Centers, representing 70% of the cargo and 90% of the passenger traffic handled in the Mediterranean Sea, was held in Tangier. The Forum, which followed the General Assembly, was organized by Tanger MED and focused on the theme:

Waves of Change – Building Sustainable & Resilient Mediterranean Ports

The first panel was dedicated to the challenges and threats for Mediterranean ports in the global geopolitical context, with interventions by representatives of the ports of Tangier, Algeciras bay, Malta, Valencia and Marseille.

The second in-depth analysis, moderated by Stefano Bonaldo, Chief of Cabinet of this Authority, focused on the theme of port efficiency in the era of AI and process automation and saw the participation of the Port Training Institute, the Port of Malaga, CIRE Technologies and IPCSA

A further session was dedicated to the theme of multimodality in the Mediterranean, with interventions by representatives of the European ESCOLA, the Port of Valencia, the Port of Casablanca.

Centrality of the Mediterranean is destined to acquire ever greater importance. Cooperation, innovation, training and sharing of responsibilities is crucial for these ports.
