Marghera (Venice), 5 June 2025 – The SIAD Group is investing 50 million euros in a new plant in Porto Marghera (Venice) for SIAD Macchine Impianti (SIAD MI), the company that leads the Group’s Engineering division. The new site, which will be completed in 2026, is intended for the production of large Air Separation Units (ASUs) for international markets.
Impact on the economy and employment

The particularly significant investment of around 50 million euros will have a positive impact on the added value generated throughout the supply chain. The new site will enable SIAD to play a leading role in decarbonization technologies. The new facility will require skilled workers, providing a valuable opportunity for growth and training for new talents. The personnel, currently engaged in the construction of ASUs in the province of Bergamo, will be involved in further industrial projects of the Group, also in the Bergamo area. This new industrial project joins a series of initiatives aimed at expanding the Engineering division, which also sees us involved in Bergamo and internationally with new offices and production units.”
Innovation and international development
The new facility will help SIAD Macchine Impianti meet the challenges and seize the opportunities presented by decarbonization and energy transition targets. In fact, this further step will allow the SIAD Group to consolidate its position in the engineering and construction of large air separation plants for the production of nitrogen, oxygen and argon, in addition to the medium and small-sized plants that it has been developing and manufacturing for many years. Large-scale plants are key to emission reduction technologies and hydrogen economy processes. The project represents a significant step forward in the growth and progressive internationalization of the SIAD Group, consolidating its experience in a segment of first-class products. The strategic location of the new facility, located within the Port of Marghera and equipped with a pier with access to the sea, will enable SIAD to be more competitive on international markets thanks to the fact that ASUs can be loaded directly onto ships, making logistics management more efficient. In addition to the areas and buildings dedicated to production, a service building, parking spaces and access roads are also planned.

Finally, the collaboration launched between the Port Authority and the private sector has made it possible to capitalize on Porto Marghera’s two unique features: its large hinterland and proximity to the sea, a combination that attracts and will continue to attract investments in high and very high value-added manufacturing. Our organization has once again demonstrated that it has worked hard to build a new port that can help businesses seize the opportunities offered by the establishment of the Simplified Logistics Zone, issuing the necessary authorizations in record time to start work and make the facility operational.”
