Description
Functional and structural redevelopment of the Scomenzera Bridge, of great historical interest as the first bridge with an entirely welded metal structure. Of strategic importance as the only vehicular access, it allows you to connect the Ponte della Libertà and Piazzale Roma with the area of Santa Marta and San Basilio.

The cost of the work amounts to €1.3 million financed by NASPA funds
Objective
The intervention aims at the conservative restoration of the metal structure, to bring the bridge back to its original carrying capacity, which is largely sufficient for today’s traffic.
Benefits
Restore the safety level of the structure, which has deteriorated over time;
Improve the connection between the port area and the main access roads to the city;
Increase safety during transit with the installation of guard rails and rainwater disposal;
