The “ITS Marco Polo Academy Foundation” was established in 2015 within the Port of Venice to meet the demands of port companies for a training institute capable of meeting the need for highly professional logistics roles.

Today, it trains not only logistics technicians with specific maritime-port competencies but also future operators in railway companies, supply chain managers in manufacturing companies, and corporate Mobility and HR Managers.
This educational offering is available in the provinces of Venice, Treviso, and Rovigo and fits into the new pathways provided by the Ministry of Higher Technical Education (ITS), offering alternatives to university courses with a strong focus on professionalism. All programs, primarily targeting recent high school graduates, span two years of higher education, during which students alternate between classroom lessons and at least 50% of internship hours at qualified companies in the logistics and production sectors. Instructors mainly come from the professional world. Upon completion of the program and after passing a final examination with tests set by the Ministry, a Level V EQF Diploma, valid throughout Europe, is awarded. Some courses offer university training credits.
