The third edition of Break Bulk Italy, the business meeting organised by Shipping Italy in collaboration with the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority, returns to Venice to bring together key players from across Italy’s project cargo transport and industrial logistics sectors.
Scheduled for 23 October at the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista, the event provides a meeting point for supply and demand in the break bulk and project cargo transport and shipping sectors, with the aim of fostering direct dialogue between the companies generating cargo flows and the operators responsible for handling them.
Around 350 participants are expected, including industrial cargo owners, freight forwarders, shipping lines, road hauliers, port terminals, brokers, shipping agents, EPC contractors and service providers.
Discussions will focus on the changes shaping a sector that is strategically important to Italian industry and to the competitiveness of the country’s port system.
In just three years, Break Bulk Italy has established itself as one of Italy’s leading events dedicated to this sector. The choice of Venice underlines the importance of break bulk traffic and, in particular, project cargo for the city’s lagoon ports, both in terms of industrial activity and transport and logistics operations.
This year’s theme is “Geopolitics, Energy, Infrastructure and New Opportunities for Italian Break Bulk”. Proceedings will open with introductory remarks by Matteo Gasparato, President of the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority, followed by an opening speech by Arianna Buonfanti of the SRM Centre for Studies and Research.
The programme will continue with two panel discussions: “The Cargo Owners’ Perspective: Needs, Challenges and Expectations” and “The Market’s Response: Solutions, Services and Prospects”. The sessions will focus respectively on the needs of the companies generating cargo flows and the solutions offered by the market.
