Matteo Gasparato

Matteo Gasparato has been appointed Special Commissioner by Decree of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport of 11/07/2025.

Biography

Matteo Gasparato has a law degree and is a senior manager with solid and proven experience in the fields of transport, logistics, and infrastructure development. After graduating, he completed several specialized master’s programs in shipping and communication, further enhancing his managerial and professional skills.

Since 2011, he has been President of Consorzio ZAI – Interporto Quadrante Europa in Verona, one of the most important intermodal logistics hubs in Europe. In September 2014, he was appointed President of Unione Interporti Riuniti (UIR), the national association representing Italy’s freight villages. Since 2015, he has also served as Vice President and Executive Board Member of Federtrasporto, the transport and logistics federation within the Confindustria system.

In 2023, he also became President of Connect Srl, a company specialized in engineering and digitalization services for logistics and infrastructure.

Over the course of his career, he has held several prominent positions, including:

  • Vice President of Quadrante Servizi (2016–2018)
  • Board Member of the Interporto of Rovigo (2014–2016)
  • Board Member of the Interporto of Orte (2023–2025)
  • Executive Committee Member and Presidency Committee Member of FICEI – the Italian Federation of Consortia for Development and Industrialization – where he also served as Vice President in 2013
  • Branch Manager at Unicredit Banca, and later at Banca Montepaschi di Siena
  • City Councilor of Verona from 2007 to 2012

In July 2025, he has been appointed Special Commissioner of the Port Authority of the Northern Adriatic Sea, one of the most strategic port authorities in Italy.
