Statement by President of North Adriatic Sea Port Authority Matteo Gasparato

Venice, 26 May 2026 – “The future of the Veneto Port System is inextricably linked to the cooperation and decisions of the local authorities within whose territories our ports operate. For this reason, as I have emphasized since the beginning of my term of office, a positive and sincere dialogue between institutions is essential for building, together, the future of our port system.
In this regard, on behalf of the Authority I am honored to represent, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations on the result achieved to both the new Mayor of Venice, Simone Venturini, and the Mayor of Cavallino Treporti, Roberta Nesto. I have already had the opportunity to work with both of them in a highly productive and practical manner, and I am pleased to continue a path of collaboration that began last July.
I am confident that, with their invaluable contribution, the Veneto port will be able to grow in the coming years and rise to the local, national and global challenges that lie ahead.”
