Strategic location, consolidated know-how, sustainability, and intermodal hub: The Port System of Veneto, composed of the Ports of Venice and Chioggia, is the reference point for Central and Eastern Europe in cargo and passenger traffic starting from Northeast Italy.

At the top of the Adriatic Sea.
At the intersection of major European transport corridors.
Hub for Motorways of the Sea.

The Veneto Port System positions itself as a European gateway for commercial flows to and from Asia.

The North Adriatic Sea Port Authority, composed of the ports of Venice and Chioggia, is strategically located at the top of the Adriatic Sea, at the intersection of two European transport corridors, the Mediterranean and the Baltic-Adriatic, a terminal for the Motorways of the Sea of the Eastern Mediterranean connecting Central Europe to Africa and the Middle East, and a terminal for the river route that crosses the Po Valley, enabling river-maritime intermodality and balanced transport of goods by barge.

The Veneto Port System has a specific multipurpose vocation, which is particularly present in the Port of Venice and of utmost importance because, in a multifunctional port, no sector prevails in a preponderant manner, but different sectors and supply chains are evenly balanced.

The Port of Venice, in particular, works and interacts with various sectors (agri-food, steel, chemicals, energy), in addition to commercial and tourist sectors, not only in Veneto but also in Northern Italy. Analyzing the entire port system, including the Port of Chioggia, the fishing sector is also involved.

In terms of influence in terms of flows and activated relationships, these support the regional business fabric and, more broadly, the entire Northeast.

The Port of Venice can rely on a strategic position at the top of the Adriatic Sea, at the intersection of two European transport corridors, the Mediterranean and the Baltic-Adriatic, and it serves as a terminal for the Motorways of the Sea of the Eastern Mediterranean.

Porto di Venezia Marghera

Chioggia represents the southernmost entrance to the Venice Lagoon and is the main fishing port in Italy, known for its excellent productivity in bulk cargo, exceptional loads, and passenger traffic
