Venice calling for green. LNG and new opportunities for road transport

On 21 July a workshop was held in Confindustria Venezia on LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) and new road transport.

Considering the growing economic and environmental interest in the use of LNG in the transports sector, the Port Authority organized a workshop together with Confindustria Venezia-Rovigo and ENI.

The workshop, addressed to haulers, illustrated the state of the art of the use of LNG for land conveyance, the potentials offered by this automotive fuel, the advantages coming from its use and, last but not least, the financing opportunities for the purchase of new vehicles or the adjustment of existing ones.

The initiative was part of the European project POSEIDON MED, co-financed by the TEN-T Programme, under which APV is carrying out a "preparatory study for the development of an LNG procurement and distribution system based on the Port of Venice and on the NAPA ports".
