Venice at the Transport Logistics China – Shanghai 8-10 June 2010 with Napa
The Port of Venice at Transport Logistics China in the stand of the North Adriatic Ports Association.
The Secretary General Franco presented the new container line that was launched last 30th of June. Operated by Hanjin Shipping, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Yang Ming Line and United Arab Shipping Company, it is proof of the new importance of the Adriatic as the European gateway for cargo to and from Asia.
Also calling at other NAPA ports, the line's first ship set out from Pusan (South Korea) on 31st May and cuts the transit-time from Venice to Singapore and Hong Kong by 16 and 20 days respectively.
The Port Authority is finally starting to reap the fruits of its efforts to enhance its infrastructure (for example deepening its channels) and to encourage trade contacts between Far Eastern and Venetian businesses.
Together with the new line, local businesses also benefit of a full range of logistics services that will definitely boost exports, traditionally one of the cornerstones of the local economy.
