The Venice Port Authority launches the Fresh Food Corridors project at the Fruit&Veg System.
The Venice Port Authority will be at the first edition of the fruit and vegetable international trade fair “Fruit&Veg System” (Verona, 4th -6th May). The initiative – more an event than a trade fair – particularly focuses on such aspects that today embody an actual added value for this sector, such as logistics.
After attending the Fruit Logistica in Berlin, this is a new chance for Venice to launch the Fresh Food Corridors, a project approved under the call for proposals “Connecting Europe Facility–Transport 2014” aiming at developing an integrated and innovative logistic corridor for the agri-food products coming from the Middle East by sea. In fact, these products are carried by rail to the markets of Northern Europe, passing through the seaports of Koper, Venice and Marseilles.
The Port Authority will particularly take part in the “Logistics for internationalization” workshop on the supply chains of perishable goods in the euro-Mediterranean trades, an initiative that involves some trade newspapers and experts.
