Dr. Cinzia Zincone was appointed Special Commissioner of the North Adriatic Sea Port Authority on 16 December 2020 by Decree of Italy’s Minister of Infrastructure and Transport.
Born in 1954, she earned a degree in Political Sciences from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in 1978.
Since 1996 she has been serving in various positions at Italy’s Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport gaining sound experience in the field of public works and infrastructure. A capable manager, in 2009 she joined the Interregional Superintendence of Public Works (former Venice Water Authority) for the Veneto, Trentino South Tyrol and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions and was called upon to deal with general affairs, personnel, trade union relations, coordination, control and accounting of public works. She was also in charge of drafting the preliminary investigations into the MoSE project.
In 2013 she was appointed Deputy President and Deputy Superintendent of Public Works of the Venice Water Authority. In January 2020 she became Superintendent of Public Works for the wider Veneto, Trentino South Tyrol and Friuli Venezia Giulia area with the task of implementing actions to safeguard the Venice Lagoon. Since 2017 she has also served as Sole Project Manager for all studies concerning the MoSE system and its entry into service.
Dr. Zincone boasts excellent relational and organisational skills gained through her extensive experience, both at the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and at the CNEL (Italy’s National Council for Economics and Labour) where in 1987 she started to coordinate the activities of Commission V "Regions and local autonomies"
