Promotion: Venice: Central Europe's gateway to the Near East (Munich)
Representatives of logistics companies and German entrepreneurs listened as President Paolo Costa spoke of the Port Authority's commitment to improving the efficiency and enhancing the railroad service to Venice by teaming up with other Italian and foreign partners.
This would ensure more frequent connections between the Port and Central Europe, and would also benefit international ship owners.
He also presented the regular weekly line that now connects Venice to the ports of Alexandria (Egypt) and Tartus (Syria) that would ensure a transit time for cargo between these two ports and the Danube region of just 72 hours.
In addition to the port's 120 potential customers, the meeting also saw the participation of the Italian Ambassadors to Syria and Egypt and the top management of field associations of Bayern (import/exporters, freight forwarders, haulage and logistics companies).
