Port of Venice participates in the international summit Belt&Road Forum in Georgia

The Port of Venice was invited to participate in the international summit Belt&Road Forum, due to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia, as the main European maritime terminal connecting Asia and Europe along the Silk Road.

The initiative is promoted by The Prime Minister of Georgia, and is managed by the Georgian Ministries of Economy  and Foreign Affairs and participated by over 15 Ministers, high level officials from 34 countries and representatives of 50 companies, encompassing a total of 1000 delegates.

The event represents a huge opportunity for the Venetian hub to strengthen and build relevant relations connected to the Belt and Road Initiative, fostering new potential business and traffics towards the South-East of Asia, the Middle East and Central Asia.

These days the President of the Port of Venice Pino Musolino is therefore meeting relevant officials such as the First Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia – Mr. Dimitry Kumsishvili; the Major of Tbilisi, Mr Kakha Kaladze – former Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Director General for Transport and Mobility of the European Commission Henrik Hololei.

The agenda also includes several B2B meetings with Georgian companies.
