A group of the students from the “Architectural Association School of Architecture” visiting Venice Port Authority
This visit is part of a study tour for students attending a project and planning course, which is completely focused on port and modernity issues in Venice.
The port of Venice is a must-see destination for future architects, port and urban planners, because Venice port infrastructures’ evolution (both in the old town centre and in the mainland) are one of a kinds among European ports.
The students were very interested in the topics covered by Venice Port Authority’s functionaries: the evolution of port areas in the old town (leading to investments for EUR 386 million), the birth and evolution of th cargo and industrial port in the mainland (Porto Marghera) and the future of our port, strictly connected to the Off-shore system project.
Afterwards, the students continued their tour with a visit to the passenger port of Marittima, which will be followed by a visit to the cargo port next Wednesday: in fact, they will have the opportunity to admire the whole port area from the TRV’s Silo’s terrace: from that height they will have the unique chance to observe how various and heterogeneous the port reality is.
