The Port of Venice participates in the III edition of the Genoa Shipping Week (Genova, 27-30 June), a paramount importance event that recalls all the international players of the maritime and logistics sectors.

One of the most important meeting of the Genoa Shipping Week is the “Port&Shipping Tech” Conference, an international forum dedicated to technological innovation and cooperation for the development of the maritime cluster. Also this year the successful formula held in  the previous editions will be maintained, reconfirming two utmost appealing appointments: the “Port&Shipping Tech” forum, that will be held on Thursday 29 and Friday 30 June and the “Shipbrokers and Shipagents Dinner" scheduled for Friday 30 June.

The North Adriatic Sea Port Authority President, Pino Musolino, will intervene in the “Port&Shipping Tech” forum session, organized in collaboration with Assoporti and CNR IRISS, titled: "The development of green ports and the waterfront revitalization processes: comparing Italian instances" discussing about the venetian waterfront and all the green initiatives of the Port of Venice.

This   session   aims   at   presenting   the   emerging   technologies   and the  innovative solutions designed to help achieving the challenging environmental goals of ports, in compliance with the efficiency and  competitiveness standards demanded by operators, as well as some  recent experiences related to the revitalisation of port waterfronts as  junctions within the sea-port-city ecological balance.

Some of the themes that will be debated are: the perspective of a circular economy for the sea-port-city system, the ships emissions and port and air quality in the port cities, the technologies for the quays electrification and the connection of ships in port, renewable sources, the environmental benefits of the proposed solutions and the new developments in Italy with regard to waterfront re-qualification projects.
