Port access permits for people and vehicles

For security reasons a permit is needed to access the port. There are daily or yearly permits, permits for individuals or vehicles, and different permits depending on the visited area.

Port areas and types of permit needed

There are three port areas that require an access permit:

Marittima;
Marghera;
Sant’Andrea/Santa Marta/San Basilio.

A personal permit is sufficient for the Marittima and Marghera areas, while a vehicle permit is needed for Sant’Andrea/Santa Marta/San Basilio.

For occasional visits to the port a daily permit can be requested by filling an on-line form.

The personal permit includes a photo and states its owner's personal details and the company they work for.

The vehicle permit states the areas accessible for the specific vehicle, its number plate and the allocated numbered parking space.

Permits are valid one solar year and must be renewed at expiry.

Each access permit costs EUR 20.00 for processing fees.

How to request a yearly permit

A dedicated form must be filled in to request the yearly permit. (In order to request a yearly permit, the dedicated form must be filled). One will also need:

a duty stamp (marca da bollo) for EUR 14.62;
a passport photo, even in digital format, eg. JPG (personal permitsand permits for contractors’ employees);
one copy of your proof of identity (e.g. ID card, work permit) for each person requesting a permit.

Requests must be handed over directly to the Port Authority's Permits Office which has the following opening hours:

from 15 September to 15 December:
Monday to Friday from 9 to 12 a.m.;

from 16 December to 14 September:
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 to 12 a.m.

How do I pay for my yearly permit?

The processing fees can be paid before handing in the request:

in cash or through a debit card (bancomat) at the Port Authority's offices;
by bank transfer payable to
