At the top end of the Adriatic sea. At the intersection of the main European transport corridors and of the Motorways of the Sea.

The Port of Venice is in a position to act as the European gateway for trade flows to and from Asia.

A Gate to Venice

A major facility is about to be erected between the passenger port and the head of the bridge that links Venice to its mainland. It has been designed to be the meeting point and intersection between sea, land and the centre of Venice.

A multi-functional facility

A new multi-functional facility will be erected between Venice and its port (near the Marittima station): it will include offices, shops, a hotel and a large car park to serve the port and Venice.

The facility will serve as interchange to and from the city and the port and will include the People Mover's intermediate station, the monorail that links the island of Tronchetto to Piazzale Rome.
